Promoting sport
One of our aims is to encourage Malawians to lead a healthy life style by participating in sport. Football is the national game for men and netball for women (Malawi are ranked 5th in the world at netball). In rural areas they have very few facilities. Netball rings are made from the rims of buckets and footballs from plastic bags wrapped round with string.
The Trust always donates footballs and netballs every time we visit a school or a village. An avid Sunderland fan, Dr Tom Rogerson, has donated several sunderland strips plus football boots as seen in the photos below.
In recent years we have helped to supply rugby kit for a sport that is seeing a revival after nearly dying out. It is now played in quite a number of rural villages by both boys and girls.
